Scott Winters
Biography

Scott won his first professional conducting post while he was still an undergraduate student at St. Olaf College (Northfield, MN). One semester before completing his B.A. at St. Olaf he was awarded the position of Director of Instrumental Music at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato, MN. During his years at Bethany Scott won high praise for his natural talent as a conductor, his effective teaching style and his creative programming.

In addition to permanent posts with the Minnetonka Civic Orchestra (Minnetonka, MN) and the Trinity Orchestra (Waconia, MN), Scott's conducting credits include the Kenwood Symphony, the Minnetonka Symphony Orchestra, the Dakota Valley Festival Orchestra, the Mankato Symphony Orchestra, the St. Paul JCC Orchestra, the Minnesota Health Sciences Orchestra, the Bethany String Ensemble, the Bethany Festival Orchestra, the Lakeveille Area Youth Orchestra, several professional pick-up orchestras and over a dozen musical theater pit orchestras.

In 2011 Scott founded a new project called Pulse Productions. Using non-traditional programming approaches, creative concert formats and muti-media content, Pulse Productions will work to develop new audiences for live instrumental music performances that are fresh, authentic and meaningful for modern listeners. The first events presented by Pulse Productions are scheduled for Fall, 2011.

Scott has completed work on a Masters of Music degree in French horn performance at Minnesota State University (Mankato, MN). His conducting teachers include Robert Spano, Norman Mackenzie, Steven Amundson, Craig Kirchhoff and Robert Scholz. Scott brings exceptionall musicality, creative programming and strong passion to the groups he leads. Scott's remarkable skills on the podium and his strong business development skills truly set him apart among conductors of great promise.
